NEIGHBOURHOOD: We are in this together
If you are one of those people who still think that the Earth is flat, this might come as a shock to you. But what goes around, comes around. And if you thought that the Earth’s surface is so huge that local business is all you need to worry about, then you really need to get up to speed with what is going on in the modern world around you. Almost everything is a global matter. Your health, your economy, your opportunities, your future.
The people of the world is one big, heterogeneous community. You will probably never become acquainted with more than a few thousand people during your lifetime.
But I’ll tell you strait to your face, even though I don’t know you and you don’t know me, that the remaining +7 billion people out there, are the ones that will decide your health, economy, opportunities and future.
If you have been paying attention, you will have heard a lot of talk about limited resources, the need for recycling, pollution of the environment, necessary balances and tipping points. What the scientists are trying to tell you is this.
Mother Earth will take care of you, if you take care of mother Earth. But you need to take this seriously.
Time is running out. Either the human race puts aside the self-righteous, egoistic and nationalistic mindset and actions …. or the end of civilization is imminent.
You might not yet fully understand the importance of this and the implications that it will have, if we don’t get our shit together asap. But you and me, we are guests here, temporarily, and what we leave behind, we will hand over to our kids, and the future offspring of our kids, family, friends and neighbors.
Coming generations of people that will be born with the same dreams, desires, needs and wishes for the future, as you.
There is no Planet B.
